Spring Has Sprung

Spring Has Sprung Once Again
IT IS HERE!
I probably write this same blog entry every year, but every year I get excited all over again. Here are my favorite signs of spring.
We took down the snow flake flag from our front porch and put up the one for spring.
My husband’s snow shovel collection, yes I mean collection, has left both the front and back porch. This one scares me a little. We might be tempting the snow god.
The snow markers are gone. For you southerners, these are flags on tall poles to mark where you don’t want the snow plow to go. This year they actually worked.
No more flannel sheets on the bed. Yesterday I changed to nice crisp cotton ones.
The local ice cream store opened on Saturday. That probably means, Skip’s, the local burger joint is also open. It is important to have those very special summer calories.
Now, drum role please!
My chives are up in the garden although the ground is nice and muddy and too early to walk on. I carefully moved along the edge and felt the lovely green spikes like very soft baby grass.
The peepers started singing Sunday night. I love that sound so very much.
Now it is time to put a couple of chairs by the lake. I will have to check and see if the ice is gone yet.
Oh, also, I hid my winter coat in the back of the closet.
