Tuesday in Nashville
We walked to breakfast and got far more soaked than we can get in our shower. We should have brought shampoo.
Our Red Neck bus tour was hysterical. Our tour guide was June Bug Junior and the driver was Gil. They played off of one another and the crowd helped make this a great time. The tour took about 2 hours and I would highly recommend it.
We had lunch at the Opry back stage diner and at first it seemed like a bad choice. I always worry when I walk into a restaurant and don’t smell food. It turned out to be wonderful. I had a cheese and ham appetizer platter that was very unusual and Neal had Brunswick stew.
Next it was time to pick up Laura and Scott. It was a short drive to the airport and we napped in the car until they landed.
We went back home by way of the grocery store. Since I napped in the parking lot I did not need a nap.
We went to We went to Hattie Bees for Hot chicken. This is a specialty of the area and this restaurant is supposed to be the best. Everything we read said the line would be really long but when we got there we got a parking space and there was no line. The chicken was really good. Scott was the only one to have the hot but there was at least one level higher. I had mild and it was plenty hot.
Next it was off to Broadway and the clubs. We went to 6 clubs but only listened to 5 bands. Yes, I am talking about me, Gayle Yarnall went to all those clubs and I was not even sleepy. Well I got sleepy once but then the band played Counting Flowers on the wall and I woke right up.
We got home at 1:30 and I was asleep by 1:35.
