My Best Friend Siri
Recently I was spending a glorious week end in Maine with two of my girl friends.
By the way, Have I ever mentioned how directionally impaired I am? There are dozens of people out there who will say this is true. Many of them actually thought I would be able to give them directions to a place just a few miles from my house. Especially since I have been there many times.
Back to my actual story: I was really feeling like I should be able to help my friends find things like our favorite breakfast place and maybe even the grocery store. Just for fun, I asked Siri to give me directions to Dorman’s Ice Cream and miracle of miracles, she did.
At this point I knew this would work and the directions seemed to work perfectly with speech. I put the phone in my pocket and continued to get ready to leave.
Several minutes later we were in the car and headed down our drive way. My phone was still in my pocket but it woke up and started talking.
Siri told us to turn left in 150 feet.
I can’t believe how easy this was and I have done this several times since that glorious day.
This cost me nothing. Siri used the maps already in my phone. Now, without spending a single extra penny, I can be a back seat driver.
