Learning German
I am a third of the way through the beginner’s German course using the combination of Pimsleur and the Victor Classic. I am doing pretty well.
I practice by speaking German to my dog. Unfortunately he is from Puerto Rico and does not do well with German.
My dad used to yell at me in German. I live in fear that the first time someone speaks German to me I will crawl into my shell. I get so I can do pretty well with asking a question because I can take my time to put the words together. When someone actually understands me and answers in German I completely fall apart.
There are so many sounds in the German language that are so hard for my poor American mouth to say. I also hope that I am hearing the words correctly. I like that I can slow down the Victor and repeat a word over and over again.
When we leave I will take the memory card with the language course and use it in my victor Stream. Maybe if I play it in my sleep that will help?
I have not had much time for other planning. I am glad I started early. I will get back into it next week.
Oh, by the way, my shoes that I bought in Chicago arrived last evening and they are just as stunning as they were in the glorious shoe store.
I wonder how you say shoes in German?
