Good By to Venice
This will be the last log entry for this perfect trip.
We pulled ourselves together and left at about 6:00 to find our last adventure. We took the boat to the Rialto Bridge. This is the oldest of the four bridges on the Grand Canal. There are shops right on the bridge. This is the new bridge built in the middle of the 16th century. Shayna bought a few little things but mostly we just looked.
We then took the boat to academia and found a restaurant. Although the service was slow the food was delicious. The people at the table next to us were from Australia and the man next to Shayna never stopped talking. On the other side of us was a couple from France. This has been a week of listening to a multitude of languages. All these people have come here to enjoy Venice. I have never been anywhere quite like this.
Shayna new the way home so she led us over bridges and down roads that were so narrow that she had to close her umbrella. What fun this city is.
Now it is time to pack my computer and all the rest of our stuff and try to get some sleep.
We will leave here tomorrow at 7:00 and walk to the boat and say good by to our fabulous home.
