It has been a while since I suggested any books on my blog. I have read some wonderful ones but right now I am lost in a book that I need to share.
You might remember that this time, a year ago, we were in Paris with our grand daughter. This year I really wanted to repeat the experience but…
Instead of experiencing Paris in person, I am experiencing it through the lovely writing of Edward Rutherfurd. His new book called Paris takes you on a long extensive wandering through the history of Paris. I find myself taking notes to plan my next trip. The characters are warm and help guide you through the streets of Paris and the past centuries as lived by people of all walks of life who have living in Paris as a commonality drawing them together.
If you have not read his book London, I strongly suggest it. Keep in mind; you may have to plan a trip to explore what you read. This book also gave me a lot of travel ideas and I have been to London several times.
He also has a book on New York and one on Ireland that are well worth reading.
Rutherfurd’s books are long and still manage to keep you wanting more. I was thrilled when the Paris book came out. I found this book on Book Share. Several of his books are also found on the BARD web site.
