Rain, Rain, It Went Away
Friday morning started with rain and a drive to breakfast. We missed the steps but the food was as good as usual. From breakfast we hit the road on our way to Lunenburg.
When I say it was raining, that is putting it mildly. I have been riding in the back seat and I was amazed at how noisy it was when we drove through puddles or small lakes, as they seemed to be.
We stopped at a Lunenburg info center and a very nice lady gave us lots of information. Most things like museums are closed. It seemed that the season has ended. This is nice because there are no crowds but not so nice because so many things are closed. We did find a lovely art gallery and I learned how to make encaustic paintings. I doubt this is a skill I will ever use but now I at least know what it is.
We got back to our lovely cottage and Neal made a fire. Waverly and I poured ourselves a nice glass of wine and shared some dark chocolate. We planned to read but we just sat and talked for a few hours. The rain stopped and Neal decided to walk to the lodge for a cheese Berger. We just poured a little more wine and talked some more. Then we took a nice nap and the sun actually came out. This means we had have a day of rain on the entire trip although it was quite a storm. It was nice to have a chance to have a fire.
We walked to dinner and stayed for the live music. The singer was a woman and she sang an odd collection of songs but she was pretty good and the lounge was quite lovely.
Can you tell I love this place? This was a great use of our RCI points.
We got to bed a little late and all slept really well.
