Grabbing the Moment
Today Rebecca and I had a talking book presentation in Malden. This is about a 45 minute ride. Although the presentation got off to a questionable start things actually went very well.
I should mention that today is one of those absolutely gorgeous May days. We have bright sun with a little nip in the air.
Just a mile or so down the road from my house is a seasonal Berger joint called Skips. Even though the food is anything but healthy, we need to hit is at least once or twice a summer.
Well, on the way home, just about at my street, we started talking about what we would fix for lunch when we got to our respective houses. We also mentioned the old car shows that are at Skips a couple of times a year. I said I thought one car show was this week end. We started talking about how much we like the food at Skips and how we try not to feel too guilty when we eat it. Next I said that it would not be so bad if we just each ate a Berger, shared one order of twisty fries and split a frap.
For those of you who don’t live in New England, a frap is a milk shake but if you order a milk shake here you will get milk shaken with flavoring, no ice cream.
Well we decided to try our theory. We ordered exactly that and sat out in the sun and enjoyed every bite. It was just enough food.
What a perfect surprise for a perfect day.
