If It Is Tuesday It Must Be Dollywood

It was breakfast at Mel’s Diner where I had a vegetable omelet with real vegetables.  We are now treated like regulars.

Next was a historic walk around historic Sevierville.  We started with the dolly Statue and walked through an old cemetery.  We ended with a walk down a cute little street with interesting shops.

Lunch was a combination of Chrystal’s for the boys and Stone Creamery ice-cream for me.  The Ice cream was quite a production and I think I got the best end of that deal.

After a short nap we were off to Dollywood.  Since the park is less than two miles from our condo, it was an easy trip.  Dollywood is pretty impressive.  We are beginning to understand that family friendly means no adult beverages.  This is true in Dollywood.  We started our visit with a ride on a fun spinny thing that got us all soaked.  I am talking about really soaked.  The water was running through my shoes.   We went to a very sweet and well done presentation about where Dolly grew up.  They showed wonderful views of and from the mountains.  The theater was lovely and cool.  We did not expect it to rain on us but it did.  Thank goodness, we needed a little more water.

Dinner was at Miss Lillian’s.  We had fried chicken that was even better than what we had at Paula Deen’s.

Last was a walk through a large area with thousands of carved and lit pumpkins.  They were in lots of little scenes and came in all sizes.  It was actually pretty amazing.  I did not believe they were real but they were.

We were pretty tired when we got home.  Since we did the thing where we got our park tickets after 3:00, we still had Wednesday to look forward to.
