Keep Reading December 2019
I can’t believe we are in a new year.
I apologize for waiting so long to write this. We were away for a lot of December and frankly I did not read that many great books. I will mention the three best and they were actually pretty good. I am incredibly fussy about books.
Ribbons of Scarlet by Kate Quinn and others gave me a new look at the French Revolution.
The lives of six women from totally different walks of life intertwine during the French revolution. We never hear about the parts women played in this bloody time of French history so here is your chance.
Necessary People by Anna pitoniak starts with two young women being good friends in college. They are not a likely pair but become good friends. Violet gets a job working for a TV network and struggles to work her way to the top. When glamorous Stella also gets a job with the network, we see how far they will go to get to the top.
The Guardians by John Grisham lives up to Grisham’s usual high standards. This time he tackles the issue of people wrongly charged and wasting away in prison. His books often are timely and hit home for me.
Now that I am writing this, I am realizing that these really were excellent books.
